Hakuhodo Brushes

As I was meandering around the L.A. Makeup Show seeing what kind of new goodies I could find, my eyes zeroed in on something very exciting....... I present.........(Drumroll please......)

I'd recently heard about the line when one of my favorite You Tube Gurus Pixiwoo talked about these brushes. I'd never heard about them before, but the way she described them made them first on my "MUST TRY...MUST BUY" list.

* In the video, Pixiwoo describes Hakuhodo Brushes by saying, "The brushes are like nothing I have ever seen before.  The quality is unbelievable".
And my favorite description:
"The second I saw this, I almost peed myself."
- Misschievous (another popular You Tube Blogger) also made a very detailed Video Review

I was so excited when I saw that Hakuhodo was at the Makeup Show. I ran up to the booth, grabbed a big fluffy brush, and fell in love at first touch.
I have run my fingers through a lot of brushes in my life.... and these are some of the softest, most amazing brushes I have ever experienced. Yes. Experienced.
These are the Rolls Royce of Makeup Brushes.  They are incredibly soft, and feel so luxurious when using them. They are seriously hard-core. Amazingly Soft.  Like Silk!!!
(Haha.. Sorry.. I know I constantly use the same descriptions over and over again.... Bad English Major!)

These brushes are made in Japan.  That in itself makes me like them because the Japanese make great products and are very meticulous.
Even better. They are hand-made.  Yes. HAND-MADE.  These babies don't come out of a factory line-up. They were made by skilled professionals. Watch this Video to find out more details about the craftmanship.

I found out that this company started out as a family business and started out as Calligraphy Brushes.
They have won the Prime Minister's Monozukiri Japan Grand Award

The brushes aren't cheap, but they aren't as expensive as I originally thought.  They are similar to M.A.C. brushes (Perhaps a little more), but are of a much greater quality.
You can find brushes in all price ranges.
They're not cheap, but I think you definitely get what you pay for.  A good brush set can last you for years and years and years of excellent makeup application.

These brushes are the real deal.
The brushes are made of different types of natural hair (from Goat to Blue Squirrel), but don't worry, no animals were harmed in the making of these brushes!
Even the synthetic brush bristles are picked by hand to be of the best quality.
They even have brushes that are based on brushes that Geisha's use.

You can go to their web-site to find out
How to use their brushes and How to clean and care for your brushes
They also say that washing brushes 1-2 times a month is enough and too frequent washings can damage them.
They also make brushes for other companies, but they don't compare to Hakuhodo.

I purchased a personal mini-brush set, a Geisha brush, and a few other ones for about $250.
I was a little hesitant to buy all of these, but they were definitely worth it.

I couldn't wait to try them... and I was not disappointed.  Brushing the large brushes across my face made my makeup application feel so much more special and luxurious.  I walked out of the house with a little more bounce to my step. Lovely!

So, for anyone who loves makeup, loves looking great, loves things that are soft and silky, and loves a little luxury... these brushes are for you.
I hope you get them and love them as much as I do!

*~ Have a Beautiful Day! ~*
