The Makeup Show NYC- 5/16 and 5/17

Hello to my readers that have been reading even though I haven't posted anything new!
Sorry that I've been so behind on my blog. Things have been super busy the month of April and I am currently at an "Advanced Artist Forum" called  Evolution with The Powder Group.
It's an amazing experience and I'm sooo lucky to be here, but Evolution is like Fight Club so I can't say any more about it ...

Although I WILL say that I haven't been allowed to use Facebook for a few days, and it's been really great.  My FB addiction was getting ridiculously out of control.

Anyways.  It's Spring... and that means that it's time for my favorite Shopping and Learning Event......
THE MAKEUP SHOW NYC! And it's the 5 Year Anniversary, so there's lots of amazing things going on.

If you are interested in Makeup, this is the place you have to be.  I love The Powder Group and follow them all across the country (literally), but I definitely like when things are right across the bridge in NYC.

There are some of the most amazing Makeup Artists and Presenters here, tons of Cosmetic Companies that sell their products for huge discounts (up to 40%), and so much to learn and see.
If you love Makeup and are in the Tri-State Area (or just wanted to go to  NYC and needed one more excuse) you need to come to the show.

 SUNDAY MAY 16 - MONDAY MAY 17

Metropolitan Pavilion
125 West 18 street,
Bet 6th-7th Avenue,
New York City, NY 10011

Speakers from every area of makeup artistry. New product introductions. Special Pro-only offers. Seminars, forums and hands-on workshops. The best networking opportunity in the business.
It’s a must-attend event for anyone involved in the makeup industry. Two days of inspiration, education and community building in the global epicenter of the beauty and entertainment industries.

For those of you that are Makeup Artists, you should definitely join The Powder Group Pro Membership Program.  It will change your career.
And if you get a chance to meet them, Michael DeVellis and James Vincent are hilarious. Hi-LARious.

So, I hope you all get to make it out to the Makeup Show to Learn, Shop, and Experience lots of Fabulosity.

What is "The Price of Beauty"

I have been completely out of the loop on T.V. (and everything else in the world...) these days.
One show that I watch online regularly is Jessica Simpson's "The Price Of Beauty".
Here's a good article from USA TODAY about the show.

I'd been a huge fan of "Newlyweds" back in college (OMG.... she didn't really say that... did she?!?!), and it was sooo sad when they broke up. (I still say Team Nick and Jessica all the way)
Now... Jessica is more mature, single, and emerged as a (seemingly) more Confident and Strong Woman.
( Sheesh.... The media can be soooo cruel.  Such haters!?!   >=T     )

I Am Korean American... and Proud of it!

I came upon the I Am Korean American website through Korean Beacon.
It's a great site that features profiles of different Korean Americans.

There are over 1.5 million Korean Americans in the United States. We share many similarities but are each unique and different. I Am Korean American is an online project that showcases the diversity and many interesting personalities of the Korean American community.

Everything's Just Peachy- Peach Blushes

I recently wrote an article for Korean Beacon about Blush.

Before...Not only did I rarely use blush... but when I did, it would usually be a pinkish toned one.
My cheeks tended to be on the rosier side, so people would always ask if I was wearing blush.
Now that I'm a Makeup Artist, I do wear blush... and people probably assume I'm wearing makeup (since a hint of bright neon pink cheeks don't really happen naturally)  ;)
However, when I want a really natural looking pretty glow, I love using Peach Blush.

Little House- My Favorite Song Right Now

I'm sorry... I know I promised I'd write more Beauty Related articles... but I just needed to share this song and I don't think my FB friends appreciate it as much as I'd like.    =T

"Little House" is a gorgeous song that I fell in love with instantly.
It's from the "Dear John" movie soundtrack and sung by the actress Amanda Seyfried.  She has such a beautifully haunting voice and I love the lyrics.  I think I have a  new girl crush... and a new song to play on repeat.

I love how songs can mean different things to the person who hears it.
It's amazing how a song can become a part of your life... and this is definitely a song that will have significance to me.

*This song makes me not want to be afraid of the what if, to take chances, and reminds me how beautiful love can be.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.       =)

So I know I haven't done as many beauty-related articles this past month.  My apologies.

*~ Angels in The City of Angels ~*

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
- Maya Angelou

Today is my last day in L.A.
Even before I left to come, I felt God watching out for me:  Bobby dropped me off at Viv's in the rain at 1 a.m., Viv dropped me off at JFK at 6 in the morning, and my cousin John picked me up from L.A.X.

Wherever I go, God has blessed me with wonderful people in my life.
Here are some of the people God brought into my life while I was in the City of Angels.

1 Week in La La Land

So I have officially been in L.A. for over a week... and I'm loving every minute of it!

Initially, I wanted to get a part time job here.  And I actually could have gotten some work... but when I told them I'm only here for a month.. it was plain to see (by their expressions) that that was pointless.

So, I am here to enjoy the sun, clean up my life, make some new contacts, and study on my own to become the best makeup artist I can be.
How am I going to do that? Well.... I can't give away ALL my secrets!  ;)

L.A. Makeup Show Review

I've been a bad bad girl.
No, I haven't gotten arrested  in L.A. or run off to Vegas to marry a cute boy I met at a bar
(You can all breathe a sigh of relief)
The trouble I'm talking about is one of my biggest FOES.... my shopping habit.
