Your Relaxation Rx- Mind/Body Alternatives to Common Problems

"It is amazing how much crisper the general experience of life becomes
when your body is given a chance to develop a little strength"
-Frank Duff

Life can be rough.
It can bring about a lot of different ailments.
So many people are stressed out, overworked/underpaid, tired, and achy.

It's easiest to take some medication to help with your ailments, but I believe it's better to get to the source of the problem to try and fix it instead of just masking it.

Here are some tips for some alternative methods to a few common health problems from Self Magazine:

Which mind/body treatments have the most rock-solid science backing them up?

Brent Bauer, M.D., director of the Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, provides the big picture.

Here are my thoughts on the the Dr.'s advice
* Yoga is one of my greatest joys in life. It makes me calmer, healthier, happier, and more energetic.
Here are some dvds I recommend.
* I've been told that meditating will do me a lot of good (I may be a little high strung..... haha), but I'm not usually one to sit still... or stay quiet.... or concentrate on one thing... but I do hope to try it out.
* I don't know much about Music Therapy, but I use music as my own therapy   =)
* Accupuncture and Qigong are not things I'm interested in, but they do seem to work well for some people.

So instead of popping those pills and making all those Doctor's appointments, try some of these alternative therapies out and see if it works for you!

*~ Have a Beautiful Day! ~*
